Yoga Retreat with Murali Venkatrao

Join Ananda Yoga teachers Murali, Hailey, and Peony for an uplifting, dynamic, and inward morning of Yoga amidst the beautiful natural setting of the Ananda Farm.

Awakening the Kundalini, the vast reservoir of energy that is present at the base of the spine, is both the goal and the result of Yogic practices. Swami Kriyananda, the founder of Ananda, taught that real spiritual progress is possible when this energy rises up the spine through the energy centers known as the Chakras. In this class, we will learn Ananda Yoga poses and Pranayama (breathing) practices that will help eventually awaken this great store of energy within us; we will also learn how to safely magnetize this energy up the spine with mudras (special hand and body positions to channel the energy) and meditation. While we will teach variations for all body conditions, we require that you have at least 6 months of experience with doing Yoga.

You will need the following props: a yoga mat, two long foam blocks OR two blankets, and a strap. For reasons of hygiene, we will be unable to provide props for you

9:00 – 12:00 pm  –   Ananda Yoga, pranayama, and meditation sadhana
12:00 – 1:00pm –  Lunch: fresh from the farm
