Learn the ancient practice of creating your own apple trees. Zach is offering this hands-on workshop on his birthday, which should tell you something about how much he loves grafting!
To create a fruit tree, one must graft the cutting from a desired tree, onto an existing root stock (tree). The variety of cutting used determines the variety of the future apple tree, and the type of rootstock used determines the size of tree and root structure.
We will have all materials available for purchase. Dwarf and semi dwarf are available, and we have more than a dozen of the best apple varieties for this area for grafting, collected from the island and surrounding area. Grafting knives will also be available for purchase.
The workshop fee covers Zach’s class at 1pm. If you don’t need the class come any graft anyway!
